Introduction to Power Query and the M language (ETB8)

This training explores the main functions and features of Power Query, a BI extension of Excel that allows you to import, transform and merge data from various sources, in order to be able to analyze them effectively. Power Query is an add-on for versions 2010 and 2013 of Excel for Windows and is included in the Data menu of version 2016 and higher (this is the section called "Retrieve and Transform"). Power Query will allow you to automate your data transformation queries and will save you a lot of time, while allowing you to perform tasks that you were never able to do in Excel before. What's more, all the new skills you will acquire during this training can be directly transposed to Power BI, a self-service BI solution.

To follow this training, we recommend having first followed the Excel training - Data processing, manipulation and analysis or having obtained a result of at least 70% on the online test of this training.

In our opinion, Power Query is truly a game changer. The Excel user who does not master Power Query will quickly be overtaken by his colleagues who use it. Moreover, users who use Power Pivot, another modern Excel solution, without first transforming their data via Power Query will very quickly be limited.
